Lecture: US Nuclear Forces for Today and Tomorrow Tuesday, February 12, 3.20-4.30 pm Speaker: Chris Preble, CATO Institute -In an era of tight budgets and uncertain future threats, what are the best policy options to modernize or reduce US nuclear forces. Chris Preble, vice president for defense and foreign policy studies at the Cato Institute, discusses these issues in an open lecture. Dr. Preble is the author several books, articles, and commentaries on security and foreign policy, including ‘The Power Problem’ (Cornell University Press, 2009), and ‘John F. Kennedy and the Missile Gap’ (NIU Press, 2004). -The lecture is free and open to all. -Sponsored by UC-Dept of Political Science and Students for International Security. |
